Ten Things We Want To See In Act Your Age…Or Whatever It’s Called

1: Phinabella. Like, a finalized couple.

I mean, didn't this make you happy?

And if that wasn’t already obvious, they won’t do that. But after they revealed that Stacy now knows that Perry is a secret agent, which was totally off the cuff, I guess they can do anything they want. (Which hopefully includes Phinabella.)

2: Emotional episode…like the Titanic!

Emotional episodes are great.

Oh, wait. They already made a spoof of that. Well, either way, everyone loves an emotional episode. If it makes us cry, great. If it makes us want to Tweet to @DanPovenmire and @mmonogram about how sad the episode is while the episode is running so we can ruin it for those who weren’t able to watch, awesome. Something along the lines of combining the sadness of City of Love with that happy feeling you get when you watch the end of Happy Birthday, Isabella.

3: Screw the time it takes to make an episode. Air it on Valentine’s Day.

The shippers will be all over this.

4: This has to be the “relationship advice” episode.

Apparently, Swampy favorited a tweet by @AcunaAndrew asking if it was the “relationship advice” episode. Most people took that as a yes, but with the way that they respond to questions about Act Your Age, they’re very sneaky.

5: Make the episode centered around Phineas and Isabella.

Isabella_Phineas_dancing_for_new_year

They’ve had episodes centered on so many people. Paul the Delivery Guy, Perry and Doofenshmirtz, Candace, Django, but they’ve never had an episode that centered around the group of kids. I mean, it’s been over 90 episodes, and still no centered episode on them? Maybe this will be their chance. After all, they have 22 minutes to work with, which brings me to my next point…

6: The second song can’t be a background thing.

With 22 minutes to play with, there’s going to be a second song, in addition to the “Unnamed Phineas/Isabella Song”. If the second song is along the lines of an instrumental, or like Thanks But No Thanks, in which they used an entire 2 minutes about singing how pyramids make sports better, that’s not that fufilling. But if they make it into another relationship building song, much like Only Trying to Help, or City of Love, that would be just amazing.

7: Finish what they started in HBI.

Ah, they really need to finish that date.

8: With this hiatus coming up, closure, closure, closure.

You know, closure would be nice. I mean, considering the crew is going on a undetermined length of hiatus (which they totally deserve btw), some closure on this relationship would be nice. Please, whatever you do, do not end this season with a cliffhanger on the relationship. Or at least, there has to be some emotional growth from before.

9: Ferb has to talk to Phineas about this.

We're_gonna_build_a_rollercoaster

And, I know, it’s going to sound like a fanfiction. But hey, fanfictions are what we read because we can’t get what we want on the television.

10: Can we get Phineas’s opinion on the idea?

I mean, we’ve heard Isabella’s thoughts on the relationship this entire show run. Phineas, on the other hand, has said nothing. Which is another reason for reason 9 (above), so Ferb can somehow corral the thoughts of Isabella from Phineas somehow…yeah.

What do you want to see in AYA?

  1. Dead on with everything here. I cannot wait for this episode to come out. The wait is unbearable!

I would personally like to find out exactly what Phineas thinks of Isabella. When I think of closure, I think of them both acknowledging that they both have feelings for each other. They don’t have to go out and be in a full-fledge relationship like others want, but an acknowledgement that there is something there and hope for the future would be just fine with me…and probably the most adorable thing to ever hit TV. Ever.

      Thanks for the positive comment!
I’m just dying to see what they pull out of their hat of tricks. It’s going to be interesting to see how far they can go on a show targeted at 9-year olds, while still (quote from Dan Povenmire) “mak[ing] Phinabella fans burst a blood vessel” and being so emotional that it made the people who wrote it cry. Ah, this will be interesting!

  2. I have a theory on what the episode might be about, and I’m just hoping I’m wrong.

OK so Doofenshmirtz builds some kind of love-based -inator and it accidentally hits Phineas. There, he starts to fall madly in love with Isabella. Isabella is delighted, and they start acting like a real couple. But Isabella soon realizes that this is not what she wanted after all, mainly because Phineas is doing this against his will. So she pleads to the stars or something to have him changed back. During Perry’s fight w/ Doof, they accidentally set the ray off again and it hits Phineas, changing him back to normal. Isabella is delighted, but Phineas retains some memory of what had happened, and is confused about it.

I’m hoping I’m wrong because then we wouldn’t have a finalized couple or even a mutual acknowledgement that there is a spark in their relationship.

All reasons except 1 and 8. Me and many fans of P&F in my area (schookids) likes seeing that things continue just the way they are. Isabella trying to get Phineas to return affection to her while Phineas is as usual oblivious. Also if both of them are an item, that means a happy ending which the creators intended to end the whole series ( i am vry paranoid!) .
I do hope to hear phineas opinions on Isabella’s crush on him. But this show must not wander into the drama genre, it must still follow its unique two inter-related plot system.

      Thanks for the comment!
Totally understandable! I see how you want to see how it plays out in the long run. Naturally, I wouldn’t put the reasons 1 and 8 on the list, though in the real-world view of things, it would be nice. The only reason I’ve put those is because of the confirmed hiatus coming up, so anything that kind of puts some sort of steady area on the relationship (whether it be just best friends, or romantic interest) is fine with me.
Also, I agree with you on the last part. If it did turn into a drama series, that would totally rebuke the entire idea of the series. After all, this is Disney.

      • Knowing Dan and Swampy they would never go down that route and ruin this series. They are more than capable – if they chose to do so – of giving this relationship some form of closure while still retaining its adorable charm. After all, that’s what makes it so special. It’s so innocent & pure there really isn’t a need for a definite resolution, though I doubt anyone is opposed to that.

  4. […] Not anytime soon, of course. But, in the meantime, we can certainly overspeculate about the upcoming Act Your Age episode. […]

  5. […] a bit, which, for some Phinabella fans, could be a good rebuttal for the fact that they hold hands again, for another time in a series of many […]

what i noticed was that 2014’s Valentine’s Day is on a Friday,so maybe they just might premiere it on Valentine’s Day 🙂 And,yes the fandom would explode with happiness if it did (at least the Phinbella supporting side would)

    • If it is indeed a Phineas/Isabella centered episode like we all think it is (Phinabella fan or not, who ISN’T thinking this) I would not be shocked, though I would think we would’ve gotten at least some sort of a tease by now.
